About the Department

The Department of Music and Vocal Arts offers comprehensive professional training for the aspiring performer in concert, opera, and musical theater. Degrees are offered and accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM), including Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Performance, Master of Fine Arts in Musical Performance and a Performance Certificate.

Partnerships with professional stage companies (Pocket Opera and Broadway By the Bay [Music Theatre Conservatory]) offer Young Artist Apprenticeships and performance opportunities for students as singers, accompanists, music directors, and production staff.

A full Performing Arts Calendar provides exceptional opportunities for student performances in opera/musical theater productions, workshop showcases, concerts, cabarets, and student recitals. The Ralston Performers’ Series showcases professional faculty and visiting artists.
