Give the Gift of Education: Notre Dame de Namur University Celebrates Giving Tuesday on December 3, 2019
Donations benefit campus’ annual fund and scholarships
For Immediate Release (11/14/2019)
Belmont, Calif.—Notre Dame de Namur University (NDNU) is taking part in Giving Tuesday on December 3, 2019, a national event dedicated to encouraging people to make a gift to the organization that has made a difference in their lives. The first $5,000 in donations to Notre Dame de Namur will be matched dollar for dollar by a challenge grant. The goal for this year’s drive is $25,000.
“This year we’re focusing on Giving the Gift of Education because there is no greater legacy that one generation can leave to the next,” said President Judith Maxwell Greig. “We’re hoping our alumni and friends will join us by donating on December 3 to help ensure that our university can continue to provide students with life-changing opportunities.”
Here’s what one Notre Dame de Namur student has to say about how financial aid has helped her: “I’m the first in my family to graduate high school and move on to a four-year university. This scholarship has impacted my life—now I can really make my family proud.”—Cassidy, third-year undergraduate.
Giving Tuesday donations to Notre Dame de Namur University will go toward the university’s AnnualFund that benefits the campus’s highest needs and priorities. Gifts will help to fund scholarships, academic resources, student life activities, and academic support services. To donate to Notre Dame de Namur University, please visit www.ndnu.edu/giving. Help us meet this year’s goal of $25,000!
Giving Tuesday is a global day of philanthropy that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities, and organizations. Following Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday, this year’s Giving Tuesday will kick off the giving season by inspiring people to donate to an organization that has impacted their life.
