Notre Dame de Namur University Named as Leading Transfer College
Campus is one of only three California institutions included in annual Transfer Honor Roll by Phi Theta Kappa
For Immediate Release (6/24/2019)
Belmont, Calif.—Notre Dame de Namur University is one of only three California colleges named to the Transfer Honor Roll compiled annually by Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), a nonprofit honor society for community colleges. The four-year colleges on the honor roll were chosen “in recognition of the dynamic pathways they have created to support transfer students.”
“We’re pleased to be named one of the top colleges in California for transfer students,” said Dr. Hernan Bucheli, Notre Dame de Namur University provost and senior vice president. “We pride ourselves on creating a smooth road for transfer students to apply, receive scholarships, and thrive here as students.”
Notre Dame de Namur’s pathway for transfer students is convenient for several reasons:
- Applicants can transfer without an associate degree.
- Students start whenever they’re ready—spring or fall.
- Agreements with community colleges help students maximize credits and plan their transfer.
- Notre Dame de Namur is part of the Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT) agreement that allows community college students to transition seamlessly to a private college.
Notre Dame de Namur University was placed on the Transfer Honor Roll by scoring in the top 25% of U.S. colleges nationwide in the Transfer Friendliness Rating that PTK calculates for each campus. The Transfer Honor Roll recognizes excellence and success in community college transfer pathway development among four-year colleges and universities.
