Notre Dame de Namur University Named 2019–20 Business College of Distinction
University offers weekday evening MBA programs in Silicon Valley and California’s Central Valley, as well as online
For Immediate Release (6/20/2019)
Belmont, Calif.—Notre Dame de Namur University (NDNU) has been named a Business College of Distinction for its work putting “the student experience first” through its part-time and online MBA programs. This recognition comes on the heels of recent announcements that institutions are shuttering their full-time on campus MBA programs in favor of more flexible options.
Given the competitive job market in Silicon Valley, Notre Dame de Namur University has long understood the need to allow its students to continue to work while seeking their advanced degree. This is in sharp contrast to most institutions that have stuck with the traditional full-time day model.
“We made the decision years ago to offer more student-centered and flexible MBA options,” says Hernan Bucheli, provost and senior vice president at NDNU. “MBA students, especially those in Silicon Valley, no longer want to stop working in order to get their MBA. More than three-quarters of our graduate students are over the age of 25. They need to stay at their jobs, but also complete their degree in order to advance in their careers. We give them that ability through our online and evening MBA programs.”
In addition to being named a 2019-20 Business College of Distinction, NDNU was named an overall College of Distinction, Catholic College of Distinction, and a Career Development College of Distinction. Colleges of Distinction also recognizes Notre Dame de Namur’s programs for returning adult students through their Abound website.
“Notre Dame de Namur’s MBA is providing a pathway for successful careers in Silicon Valley and beyond,” says Dr. Bucheli. “Our graduates are finding high-level positions at leading companies such as Google, Genentech Facebook, Apple, and other high-profile corporations.” View a recent video on the San Francisco Chronicle’s website where Notre Dame de Namur MBA graduates talk about their careers.
