NDNU Department of Theatre and Dance Presents The Last Call, October 25–28, 2018
Notre Dame de Namur University Theatre, 1500 Ralston Avenue, Belmont, California
For Immediate Release (10/18/2018)
Belmont, Calif.— Featuring the final campus performances of NDNU Theatre Arts students, the Notre Dame de Namur University (NDNU) Department of Theatre and Dance presents The Last Call, an evening of contemporary comedies, October 25–28, 2018. The plays are staged and performed by current and former NDNU Theatre Arts students, faculty, and visiting artists.
The Last Call consists of two acts. The first is the award-winning, quirky comedy The Mistress of Wholesome by Jacob Appel. The play is directed by Treci Fields, a senior in Theatre Arts, who will also act in the production. The Mistress of Wholesome recounts the story of a cardiologist’s wife who is being vetting her for adopting a child—her husband’s mistress and the social worker (Juan Pascual) arrive at her home at the same time.
The second act will feature five short plays by Shel Silverstein from his celebrated work, An Adult Evening with Shel Silverstein. The plays range from a hilarious conversation between a customer and laundromat proprietor, to a father surprising his daughter with a mysterious gift on her sixteenth birthday. Performers include Belmont favorite George Metropulos, and theatre program graduates Seamus Donohue, Lilian Mangrobang, and Andrea Rosewicz.
The NDNU Theatre Department production of The Last Call will include a post-performance reception on October 26, immediately following the performance.
Admission to all performances is free. Seating is open and no reservations are required. Doors will open one hour before each performance.
