Notre Dame de Namur University Re-starts Admissions for Fall 2020 Graduate Programs
Partnerships with other Bay Area institutions helps to ensure the future of certain programs
For Immediate Release (June 16, 2020)
Belmont, Calif. – The University announced earlier this year that they would not be accepting new students for summer and fall 2020. Notre Dame de Namur University is pleased to report that they have reversed that decision for three major graduate programs, Art Therapy, Clinical Psychology, and Education and teaching credentials.
NDNU has formed partnerships with three other Bay Area institutions to ensure the future of these graduate programs that are in higher demand. NDNU has re-started admissions for these programs with the knowledge that these partnerships will allow students to complete their degrees if NDNU is not able to continue operations beyond spring 2021:
- NDNU and Dominican University of California have entered into a partnership that would continue the Art Therapy Psychology program at Dominican University in San Rafael.
- NDNU and Menlo College have entered into a similar partnership that would continue the Clinical Psychology program at Menlo College in Atherton.
- Additionally, this week NDNU formed a similar partnership with St. Mary’s College of California to continue the Education and teaching credential programs at a location to be chosen in San Mateo County.
Continuing these programs preserves educational infrastructure that is important to the Peninsula and greater Bay Area as well. Re-opening admissions will allow these excellent programs to remain robust and to serve as foundational pieces for a restructured NDNU, or to become valuable additions to the offerings of our partner institutions.
These partnerships are one of many pathways that the university is exploring to position itself for the future to serve the community as a center for learning. The university is continuing to work with community leaders and elected officials, as well as other organizations, to explore additional partnerships and options, including sharing the campus to support ongoing operations.
