Boost Your Career
An official partnership between NDNU & UCSC
UC Santa Cruz (UCSC), Silicon Valley Professional Education and Notre Dame de Namur University (NDNU) are proud to introduce an innovative pathway program for students seeking to enhance their professional skills and become eligible for professional status membership in the Association of Educational Therapists (AET).
Addressing Growing Demand
With the demand for educators skilled in Educational Therapy on the rise, UCSC and NDNU have joined forces to provide a seamless transition from UCSC’s Educational Therapy Certificate program to NDNU’s esteemed Master of Arts in Educational Therapy. This collaboration bridges the gap for UCSC students, offering a clear trajectory for advancing their expertise by earning a Master’s degree in Educational Therapy.
Pathway to Success
The pathway program allows UCSC Educational Therapy Certificate students to seamlessly transfer 30 quarter units (20 semester units) towards the completion of NDNU’s Master of Arts degree in Educational Therapy. UCSC is the only University of California certificate program approved by the Association of Educational Therapists. NDNU’s program is recognized as one of only three in the nation offering this specialized degree. As such, students gain a solid foundation and advanced skills in assessment and intervention techniques crucial for addressing various learning challenges and learning disabilities.
What makes this collaboration unique?
Tailored for Non-Traditional Learners
Designed for working professionals and education workforce re-entry, this partnership extends accessibility to advance one’s education. Both UCSC and NDNU offer courses through an online format to meet the work-life balance of their diverse adult student populations.
Empowering Flexibility
One of the key strengths of this collaboration is the cost-effective flexibility it affords learners. As one potential student notes, “This collaboration changes the equation. It makes it possible to consider going back to school, even though I have a two-hour commute. It minimizes the impact the pursuit of education has on my day-to-day responsibilities.”
Unlocking Opportunities
By leveraging the strengths of both institutions, UCSC and NDNU are creating pathways that lead to better opportunities for all learners. With a competency-based model and industry-aligned courses, students are equipped to meet the demands of today’s workforce while advancing their careers in Educational Therapy.
