Notre Dame de Namur University and Rize Partnership
Rize is a consortium of colleges and universities, including NDNU, through which partnering institutions can quickly and cost-effectively expand their current academic program offerings to include evolving fields of study that reflect students’ educational and career interests.
As a member of the consortium, NDNU can offer Master Degree concentrations or emphasis paths of study in which our students continue to take the majority of their courses online with NDNU faculty, supplemented by specialized online courses developed by subject-matter experts and delivered by faculty from other institutions. For instance, students in our Rize-supported MBA Finance concentration will take all of their core MBA accounting, business, economics and other core courses and several electives at NDNU, while taking their concentration or emphasis courses in areas like sourcing and forecasting through Rize faculty, fully online, who are made up of subject matter expert faculty from other accredited US universities. Students who choose to add a concentration or emphasis as part of their NDNU Graduate Degree will graduate from NDNU with one of more of these distinctions. Students can also choose to take Rize specialty courses as electives without completing a full concentration or emphasis degree.
Benefits of Rize Programs
In addition to the ongoing support NDNU students can expect from their faculty, advisors and student-success professionals, Rize-powered courses provide additional support that includes monitoring of student performance at early, middle and end points of each course.
For students who need accommodations for disabilities, NDNU staff work with Rize Student Support to determine the best course of action to meet a student’s needs. Students pay the same tuition to their home institution that they would for any other class on campus; they pay no fees to Rize. Please note that students may have to buy a textbook or similar resource as they would with any other class

About Rize
In 2019, our co-founders moved to Adrian College to incubate Rize and work closely with President Jeffrey Docking. With his decades of experience devising innovative solutions to the challenges higher education faces, President Docking was an influential co-founder and advisor in creating what Rize is today. We also innovated alongside the small independent colleges that are a part of the Lower Cost Models Consortium. Countless administrators, faculty, and students of these colleges helped us design the ideal solution from the beginning. LCMC institutions share our commitment to making higher education more affordable and ensuring positive student outcomes. They use Rize to unlock new programs and drive new enrollments – all without the immense cost and time typically required to start a new major.

State Authorization for Online Programs
The Department of Education requires that institutions offering online or distance learning programs outside of their home states must seek authorization to operate from regulatory bodies in those states. Each state has a different set of requirements when it comes to allowing out-of-state colleges and universities to offer online degree programs to its residents.
